Meet Michaela, a dedicated horse lover. She and her sister were frequent dinner guests at our home. One evening, Michaela asked to lease my horse for a show, but I offered her a different opportunity instead. I asked her to come over once a week and do ground training with Sugar; under my guidance, she could show the horse anytime she wanted.

This opportunity changed her life. Michaela was struggling with depression and thought of hurting herself, but the idea of working with horses gave her hope.

Over the last few years, she’s worked hard to hone her skills as a horse trainer, and she graduated from college with a degree in education. Michaela has been a source of inspiration and is why we continue to provide healing with our mentorship program.
