Healing Hoofs is a non-profit organization reaching out to the ABUSED YOUTH in our community.
They need to feel WANTED, NEEDED, and LOVED to understand they belong, and to connect with the unconditional love of GOD and the SPIRIT of a horse.
Sessions
The Healing Hoofs mentoring program pairs an experienced mentor with an individual and a horse. Sessions involve the participant brushing and grooming the horse to gain
trust and feel responsible for their care and also, to understand equine safety.
Mentors
Our mentors are not certified counselors or therapists. Instead, the mentor guides them through the session to keep the participant and the horse safe. The bond that develops with caring for a horse is healing for our participants.
Program
Our program involves scheduled sessions,
goal setting, and skill-building exercises adapted to the individual’s needs. The relationships with our horses and individuals build trust, mutual respect, and opens communication.
